About The Trinity in The Old Testament: The Son Is The Right Hand of God

In many verses of the Bible is made reference to The Hand of God, and how His hand does wonderful things. The way these verses are written could drive us to ask if The Hand Of God is a person.

What does the term "right hand" mean? In the Hebrew cultural mind setting, there exists a great difference between a hand and the right hand. The right hand has power: Hand" most frequently represents the ownership, power, or control that its possessor (either an individual or a people) exercises.[...] The hand of God, and especially the right hand, is also understood as a place of salvation, refuge, and protection (16:8). It is the favored position for the firstborn of Joseph to receive Jacob's blessing ( Gen 48:13-18 ), for the bride of the king ( Psalm 45:9 ), and for the chosen one who sits at God's right hand while judgment is rendered upon the earth ( 110:1 ; Jer 22:24 ). (Bakers evangelical dictionary http://www.biblestudytools.com/dictionaries/bakers-evangelical-dictionary/)

According to the Jewish encyclopedia, Jacob showed the significance of using the right hand in blessing by placing it on the head of Ephraim, whose tribe was thereby destined to become the greater nation, though Manasseh was older in years (Gen. xlviii. 17-19). "Right" is a synonym for "goodness" and "brightness," and "left" for "badness," "awkwardness," and "clumsiness." (http://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/articles/12757-right-and-left)

The first reference to The Right Hand Of God is made the book of Exodus:

Your right hand (yamin-kha), O LORD (YHWH), was majestic in power, your right hand, O LORD, shattered the enemy. Exodus 15:6 (NET)
You stretched out your right hand (yəmin-kha), the earth swallowed them.Exodus 15:12 (NET)

Exodus 15:1-21 is a song of victory. It is the song that The People of Israel sang in Worship to The LORD after crossing the Red Sea. After seeing how God delivered them from the persecution of Pharaoh. Crossing The Red Sea was leaving slavery behind.

Looking at Exodus 14 we find what Moses told the Israelites when they were loosing heart being persecuted by Pharaoh:"Exodus 14 (NET) 13 Moses said to the people, "Do not fear! Stand firm and see the salvation of the LORD ( yəshu'at YHWH) that he will provide for you today; for the Egyptians that you see today you will never, ever see again.Exodus 14 The LORD will fight for you, and you can be still." In verse 19 it's mentioned that the Angel Of God (malekh haElohim) moved to be in between the Israelites and the Egyptians. Then, on verse 21 YHWH opened the waters when Moses stretched out his hand. When the Egyptians tried to go through the sea, YHWH jammed the wheels of their chariots (verse 25) and they drowned.

Interestingly, Exodus 15 indicates that the Israelites saw the different persons of The God Head YHWH Elohim while crossing the Sea:
a) YHWH is clearly identified as The Father: "Ex 15:2. The LORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him."

b) the Spirit of God was who opened the waters: "Ex 15:8 By the blast of your nostrils (uberuach peikha) the waters were piled up, the flowing water stood upright like a heap, and the deep waters were solidified in the heart of the sea.[...]10 But you blew with your breath, (nashpetta beruachkha) and the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters." Ruach means breath but also spirit, so your breath (ruachkha) means as well Your Spirit (of YHWH)

c) The right hand was who shattered the Egyptians. "Ex 15:6 Your right hand, O LORD, was majestic in power, your right hand, O LORD, shattered the enemy." As exposed before, The Angel of God was who was covering the backs of the Israelites, indicating by association that He was who jammed the wheels of the Egyptians (Ex 14:25) "12 You stretched out your right hand, the earth swallowed them." So there is an association between The Right Hand of God and The Angel of God, they basically are the same person.

Is possible to argue that The Angel Of God could be any of His angels (eg Michael or Gabriel). An important passage which may clarify this argument about The Angel of God is in Genesis 22, when Abraham was asked to sacrifice his soon Isaac.
"gen 22:2 God (Elohim) said, "Take your son - your only son, whom you love, Isaac - and go to the land of Moriah! Offer him up there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will indicate to you.""
Abraham and Isaac obediently go to Moriah as asked by God. When Abraham was about to take his son's life, the Angel of YHWH called him: "11 But the LORD's angel called to him from heaven, "Abraham! Abraham!" "Here I am!" he answered. 12 "Do not harm the boy!" the angel said. "Do not do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God because you did not withhold your son, your only son, from me." As we see from the sentence "you did not withhold your son from me" indicates equality between the Angel of YHWH (v12) and Elohim (v2).

Judges 2:1 adds further reasons to conclude that the Right Hand of God and The Angel of God are the same: "The LORD's angelic messenger (malekh YHWH)went up from Gilgal to Bokim. He said, "I brought you up from Egypt and led you into the land I had solemnly promised to give to your ancestors. I said, 'I will never break my agreement with you,".

The next piece from the puzzle is found in Psalm 118.
-Verse 14 states that YHWH has existed as "my Salvation", my Yeshua.
-Verse 15 then clarifies that the.
-The Right Hand is who does the Salvation, and is an Exalted person (verse 16)
-Verse 17 to 21 mentions that we will live thanks to the works of YHWH, that He doesn't give us to death, that He is our door to righteousness and that if we call upon His name he becomes our salvation.
-Verse 22 and 23 are critical to close up the loop: "22 The stone which the builders discarded has become the cornerstone 23 This is the LORD's work. We consider it amazing!"

While talking to the religious people in Matthew 21, Jesus told a parable about the landowner of a vineyard, whose messengers and ultimately his Son were killed by the tenant farmers. This parable was referring to how the religious people of Israel had dismissed the words of the prophets and messengers of God, how they killed them, and a prophecy of Jesus declaring that He was the Son of the owner of the vineyard, who would also be killed by them. "42 Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the scriptures: 'The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is from the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes'? 43 For this reason I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit."

So here we can come to the conclusion. Based on the words of Genesis 22, Exodus 14 and 15, Psalms 118 and Matthew 42, it's concluded that the times the Old Testament talks about Right Hand and The Angel of God (those passages where clearly shows equality with YHWH) is indeed talking about Jesus (Yeshua).
