Who is your redeemer?

Regardless of what is going on on anyone’s life, everyday is day with a chance. What is the most important chance of life? Believing in God and receiving His Salvation. Yesterday I read a tweet from Rob Robinson (@FairMinded Faith) saying the following: “Imagine that for some, at the end of their life when it's too late, they will discover that they had the key to eternal life all along. In Luke 16, Jesus told the man in hell that he should have believed the Bible, he could have been saved. Today is the day of salvation. Believe!” https://twitter.com/fairmindedfaith/status/1396093558168330240?s=10 One of the purposes of this blog is to facilitate yet another channel to share the Good News. God has put in my heart the desire to provide means for many to reflect. I really hope that through reflection, many will come to believe in the truth of the Salvation that God offers us through His Son. Many of us have struggled with how gracious God is. It’s difficult to understand that G...

The Belief that Messiah had to be Divine predated the time of Jesus

Image
Some skeptics and contradictors of Christianity claim that the Deity of Christ was an invention of people, something that progressively developed years after the time of Jesus on earth. I would like to provide evidence that this is not the case, and that in fact, the belief that Messiah is God pre-dated the incarnation of Jesus.   My argument in this article is based on the Book of Isaiah, a prophetic book which clearly speaks about the Son Of God, as I have documented in this other article. However, this time I'd like to present what the believers before the time of Jesus understood this prophetical book spoke about.   It’s important to highlight that the view of Rabbinical Jews today about Isaiah, and in specific of Isaiah 53 is not aligned with the view of Orthodox Judaism, especially in the first century BCE. To demonstrate this, I'd like to review what the Targums, and in specific to the Targum Johnathan say.   Targu...

The Deity of The Messiah

SUMMARY The concept of Trinity is commonly misunderstood by many people. It is the concept which defines God as one in what He is, but three in who He is. Other way of saying this is that the Almighty is One being, but three persons. Multiple assertions have become popular when discussing about the origins of the believe on a Triune God: - Some people say that it was invented by some Christians in the council of Nicea 300 years after Jesus  - Other people argue that the Trinity is definitely a Christian invention, for the Jews never came up with any concept which would point to support this. In this article I present references to first generation Christian writings outside the Bible who explicitly declare the deity of The Messiah. I also present references to Jewish writings which do present views aligned with the concept of the deity of the Messiah, from before and after the time of Jesus. The objective is to argument that the deity of The Messiah...

Traditional accounts of the preservation of the Qur'an vs. Manuscript evidence

The traditional account of how the written Qur'an has been preserved tells us that today's 1924 Cairo edition of the Qur'an is word by word the same as the ones revealed to the prophet of Islam. This account tells us basically that the following steps occurred: 1. The prophet of Islam received the messages from the angel Gabriel. Each word is purely the words coming from God. 2. The revelations came through 2 decades. Muhammad would have at least one scribe to write the revelation. This was done in parchments, stones and other means. This revelations came in 7 different readings to allow people with different dialect pronouncing them. 3. The scripts were not compiled in Muhammad's time into a single codex, because the revelations kept coming till not too long before his passing. 4. During the first Caliphate, Abu Bakr ordered to compile the writings into a single codex. This was because even though there were multiple companions who had memorized the revelations, many o...

Nicodemus and the Story of Moses lifting the snake on the dessert

John Chapter 3 Tells us about the time when Jesus spoke to Nicodemus, a Pharisee member of the Sanhedrin. Interestingly is reported that he told Jesus:     “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.” Jon 3:2 NIV   Jesus explained several important things related to how to receive eternal life. Nicodemus was apparently impaired. He struggled to understand Jesus, even though he was a versed man in the faith of his forefathers. Jesus decides to tell him an analogy:   13 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man. 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.” 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son i...

Do The Gospels document that Jesus claimed to be God?

An argument is often brought forward to support the idea tha Jesus Christ, Isa Al-Masih, never claimed to be God. When we claim something for us, we can do it orally, written or by action. Either something we say or something we do demonstrates who we are. Perhaps you have hear this Argument. Jesus never said explicitly, I am God, worship me. The first question I'd like to ask is whether you've read the Bible or not. The second is if you have given the chance to understand its contents or not. Regardless the answer to those questions, I invite you to read the notes below. They summarize the accounts in which is seen wether Jesus claimed to be God or not. Please read this with critical and constructive eyes, with a sincere heart. Where  did  Jesus  Claim to be God in The Gospel According To Matthew? 1. He claimed the prophets were persecuted because of Him, implying he sent those prophets Prophets are messengers sent by God. Only he can send them. Jesus said to His discipl...
