Who is your redeemer?

Regardless of what is going on on anyone’s life, everyday is day with a chance. What is the most important chance of life? Believing in God and receiving His Salvation. Yesterday I read a tweet from Rob Robinson (@FairMinded Faith) saying the following: “Imagine that for some, at the end of their life when it's too late, they will discover that they had the key to eternal life all along. In Luke 16, Jesus told the man in hell that he should have believed the Bible, he could have been saved. Today is the day of salvation. Believe!” https://twitter.com/fairmindedfaith/status/1396093558168330240?s=10 One of the purposes of this blog is to facilitate yet another channel to share the Good News. God has put in my heart the desire to provide means for many to reflect. I really hope that through reflection, many will come to believe in the truth of the Salvation that God offers us through His Son. Many of us have struggled with how gracious God is. It’s difficult to understand that G...

Muhammad in The Bible 3: the Servant described by Isaiah?

Almost since the time of the prophet, Muslims have claimed that Muhammad is described in verses found on the Book of Isaiah. Though the Qur'an only makes allegations that prophecies describing Muhammad were in the Torah and the Gospel, it's interesting to see that they would use the book of Isaiah. You see, though the Book of Isaiah is regarded as canonical by Christians and Jews, it's not strictly regarded as part of the Torah. Perhaps, Muslims from the time of Muhammad understood that the Tanakh (also known as Old Testament) was indistinctly called as well Torah, because it contained the Torah within it. Any way, the reason why I highlight this is because if a Christian makes a reference to a New Testament books (e.g. Revelation or Acts), arguing is part of The Gospel (the good News), Muslims disregard it.  Having said that, let's look if the prophet of Islam was prophesied within the Book of Isaiah. Here are some of the Muslim's claims: Isaiah 42 is amon...

Muhammad in The Bible 2: the prophet from Mount Paran? Deuteronomy 33:2and Habakkuk 3:3

Image
Deuteronomy 33:1-2 combines references to Moses, Jesus and Muhammad. It speaks of God (i.e. God's revelation) coming from Sinai, rising from Seir (probably the village of Sa'ir near Jerusalem) and shining forth from Paran. According to Genesis 21:21, the wilderness of Paran was the place where Ishmael settled (i.e. Arabia, specifically Mecca). (1) This is another common argument used to support the claim, that as mentioned in the Qur'an, Mohammed was foretold in the Bible. I would like to use soft words as much as possible, but this argument requires using mental gymnastics. I have two main issues with the argument: 1. Does Seir really refer to Jerusalem? The argument works if it makes reference to 3 major prophets of Islam. Moses,Jesus and Muhammad. Peace be upon them. However with all due respect, why attributing Seir (in the land of Moab) to Sa'ir?  In Deuteronomy 33:2 it's written  מִשֵּׂעִיר֙ (miś·śê·‘îr, from Seir). As for the town near Jerusale...

The Torah that Jesus held in his hands according to Islam

Reading the Qur’an, I came to the following question. Was the Torah at the time of Jesus trustworthy or not? After reviewing the Qur’an, the interpretations of some verses as well as understanding the Arabic grammar, I came to the following conclusion:                                              The Torah at the time of Jesus was trustworthy .   I present in this articles a small study to sustain this claim.                         My invitation to anyone is to then review the claim of Islam, can you find in today’s Bible without a shade of doubt prophecies concerning the Prophet of Islam?                                                              ...

Al-Tabari’s notes about the trustworthiness of the Bible

“Believe in that which I sent down in confirmation of what is with you, O Jews. And what is with them is the Torah and the Evangel” In a previous post (1) I had shown how the Sira (biography of the prophet) by Ibn Ishaq demonstrated that the prophet of Islam regarded the Torah and the Gospel as trustworthy . In this blog site you will also find confirmation of this from the Hadith (2). In order to assure that my interpretations are not biased from my background, I’ve initiated efforts to discuss and present what the understanding of respected classic Muslim Sunni scholars. After reviewing the opinions attributed to Ibn Abbas (3), I plan to review the commentary of Tabari. Who is Al Tabari? Abū Jaʿfar Muḥammad ibn Jarīr al-Ṭabarī    (born c. 839, Āmol, Ṭabaristān [Iran]—died 923, Baghdad, Iraq), (was a) Muslim scholar, author of enormous compendiums of early Islamic history and Qurʾānic exegesis, who made a distinct contribution to the consolidation of Sunni though...
